Equipment Room Sanitization
At the beginning of the day and at the end of every shift:
Sanitize frequently touched surfaces and objects (desktops, doorknobs, outside of refrigerator door, microwave if used) either by using a disposable sanitizing wipe, or by using Oxivir as follows:
- Pour Oxivir into a spray bottle labeled “Oxivir”. Do not transfer Oxivir into a spray bottle labeled for Alcohol, or vice versa.
- Spray Oxivir onto a paper towel, and wipe the surface.
Clean computer keyboards, mice, telephones, etc. by spraying 70% alcohol solution onto a micro-fiber towel and wiping them carefully.
Equipment Sanitization
All equipment will be routinely sanitized, to the best of CeLT’s ability, in accordance to manufacturer and CDC recommendations.
- Before beginning, gather all necessary materials and put on a fresh pair of gloves.
- Most sensitive (digital/electronic) equipment is to be cleaned with a 70% alcohol solution.
- Use only a spray bottle which has been clearly labeled “Alcohol 70% solution” (refill it with 70% isopropyl alcohol as needed—ask for assistance if required).
- Never spray cleaners directly onto the equipment.
- When possible, use lint-free cloths for cleaning sensitive equipment (headsets, camcorders, tablets).
- A new towel, cotton swab, etc., is to be used for each piece of equipment. Do not reuse cleaning supplies.
- Before returning equipment to storage after sanitizing, wipe down the storage area surface (shelf, etc.) with a sanitizing wipe.
