The thriving Arabic language program with its focus on modern standard Arabic and courses offered on the history and politics of the modern Middle East add a vital and critical modern dimension to the traditional departmental areas of strength. Recently, our temporal reach has extended to include the ancient Near East as well.
Arabic is the official language of 26 states (24 sovereign countries and 2 disputed territory) with different dialects found within those. It is also one of the six official languages of the United Nations. There are perhaps 422 million native and non-native speakers of the language with an estimated 1.8 billion Muslim speakers.
Now, IU has Arabic Flagship program which would give you broader choices when you decide to learn the language.
Arabic is available in IU Language Workshop 2023
Both Immersive (Beginners) and Online (Non-beginners) are available.
