Language Information
Zapotec is a group of languages spoken by the Zapotec people, who are indigenous people of Mexico primarily located in the southern state of Oaxaca. Zapotec languages are spoken by about 500,000 people, mostly in Oaxaca but also in neighboring states and in diaspora populations (especially in the U.S.).
Zapotec is not currently taught at Indiana University, although it has been offered by the Language Workshop in the past.
