Language Information
Somali is an Afro-Asiatic language with approximately 24 million speakers in northeastern Africa. Somali is an official language in Somalia and Ethiopia and a national language in Djibouti. There are also significant numbers of Somali speakers in Kenya, Europe, North America and Yemen.
Somali is not currently taught at Indiana University, but we do have access to some archived materials listed below.
