Language Information
Shona is a Bantu language spoken by about 14 million people mainly in Zimbabwe, where it is one of the official languages. Additional speakers are found in Mozambique, Zambia, and Botswana. There are several varieties and dialects, which are mostly mutually intelligible.
Shona is not currently taught at IU, but we do have access to some archived materials listed below.
