Maliseet–Passamaquoddy, also called Peskotomuhkati-Wolastoqey, is an endangered North American indigenous language in the Algonquin langauge family that is spoken by the Maliseet and Passamaquoddy people in the northeast. Their geographic region covers northern Maine, U.S, and parts of New Brunswick, Canada. Each area has its own major dialect: Malecite around New Brunswick and Passamaquoddy in Maine.
Recent linguistic surveys that only about 600 speakers remain today. These individuals are primarily older adults.
Maliseet-Passamaquoddy is not currently offered at Indiana University.
