Sierra Leonean Krio is the lingua franca of Sierra Leone. It is an English-based creole spoken by the vast majority of the country's population, and developed by the country's descendants of freed slaves from areas including the United States, Canada, and the British Empire.
Krio is not currently taught at Indiana University, but we do have access to some archived materials listed elow.
