Language Information
Fulfulde is a language in the Niger-Congo family that is spoken by approximately 35 million people in West and Central Africa. The language goes by multiple names, including Fula, Fulani, and Pular. Fulfulde is the first language of the Fula people, who live primarily in West Africa, and is also spoken as a second language by many in the region.
Fulfulde is not currently taught at IU, but we do have access to some materials in our recording archive.
