Language Information
Dutch is a spoken by over 25 million people in Western Europe, primarily in the Netherlands and the Flanders region of Belgium. It is also an official language of Suriname and in three constituent countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands: Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten. Dutch is in the West Germanic family of languages. In southern Africa, Afrikaans--a language developed from Dutch--is widely spoken.
