Last Friday, CeLT has held the first Open House event.
Being a tradition of the orientation in the pre-pandemic era for decades, new language AIs and FLTAs always got the chance to explore CeLT offices and labs when their IU journey commenced. However, due to the impact from the COVID-19 and relocations of CeLT facilities, people failed to get to know CeLT and build connections with them, not to say utilizing the service from CeLT.
The whole event was consist of three parts CeLT tour, Scavenger Hunt Game and New Tech exhibition. Participants would gain genuine experience with CeLT as well as get to know the new equipment like eGlass, QBall and etc. being used in mobile or hybrid learning environment.
From the feedback of participants, CeLT has learned its potential and capability to serve for IU community of language learning and instruction. However, the timing of event also matters. More CeLT Open House are expected for each year at the beginning of fall semesters.
