Audience and Goal:
- The general goal of LLL is to form supportive communities for language learners in Indiana University.
- The focus for this summer event is “Celebrating Multilingualism”: helping motivated language learners meet and learn from other language learners; helping them share tips and techniques for effective language learning, especially for those who are or want to become proficient in multiple languages.
- The potential audience for this event comes from the roughly 300 online and in-person students in IU summer 2023 language programs, plus the larger IU language-learning community. We also welcome non-IU language enthusiasts.
Event Format:
- Hybrid: The event will take place both in-person (on campus, location TBA) and remotely using a virtual meeting platform.
- Speed-dating format
- 3 concurrent sessions for participants to choose from.
- Participants rotate every 15-minutes from session to session, with a 5-minute break in between sessions
- Hosts prepare 1 topic and present it 3 times to different groups of participants.
- There will be one “free room” for any emerging topic.
- Refreshment will be provided at 5:30PM for in-person attendees.
